About

About Just Freeze Drying

Just Freeze Drying is an independent educational resource created and operated by WeFreezeDryIt. It exists to help people understand food preparation, freeze-drying processes, equipment, troubleshooting, storage, rehydration, advanced techniques and real-world testing. WeFreezeDryIt is not a freeze-dryer manufacturer. The site is written to be practical, not promotional: the goal is better batches, safer handling and honest expectations.

Straight Answers: Who, What and How

Who owns Just Freeze Drying?

Just Freeze Drying is owned and operated by WeFreezeDryIt, the organization named throughout this site. There is no separate, unnamed owner and no vague ownership: WeFreezeDryIt is the operating organization.

What is WeFreezeDryIt?

WeFreezeDryIt does professional freeze-drying work, product trials and real-world testing in Panama, and operates this educational resource. It is not a freeze-dryer manufacturer: it is a service and testing organization.

Why was Just Freeze Drying created?

The platform exists because most freeze-drying information online is scattered, promotional or written by manufacturers and resellers. This site was created to be the neutral, practical reference: food-specific guidance, troubleshooting, equipment facts, tools and clearly labeled real-world testing.

Is Just Freeze Drying associated with any equipment manufacturer?

No. Just Freeze Drying is not a freeze-dryer manufacturer and is not owned or controlled by any equipment brand. WeFreezeDryIt operates real machines and reports manufacturer information separately from its own findings. Commercial relationships, where any exist, are disclosed on the pages they affect.

How is information researched?

Content is built from the source hierarchy on the Sources page: primary sources first (manufacturer documentation, government and university food-safety material, technical literature) over blogs and resellers. The full framework is on the Methodology page.

How is testing performed?

WeFreezeDryIt testing is practical, real-world testing on actual batches, documented and labeled according to the Lab Methodology: what was measured, what was calculated, what was observed and what was simply not recorded. Internal testing is not an accredited laboratory, and no result is presented as certified analysis unless external accredited testing was actually used.

What is independent vs manufacturer-provided?

Manufacturer-provided information (specifications, settings, claims from manuals and official materials) is labeled Manufacturer Guidance or Manufacturer Specification and is reported as the manufacturer's information, never as an independent test result. WeFreezeDryIt's own findings are labeled separately as Measured, Calculated, Observed or WeFreezeDryIt Tested only when a real documented record exists.

How can errors be reported?

Anyone, including manufacturers and researchers, can report an error through the Report an Error form or by emailing info@wefreezedryit.com. Every report is checked against the source before any content changes.

What This Resource Covers

The site is organized around the questions people actually run into, from a first batch to advanced experiments. The Freeze Drying Lab documents real-world testing in a transparent, labeled way as genuine records are published, and the Tools section makes common calculations visible: formula, inputs and limitations are shown for every result.

Food Preparation

How to wash, cut, blanch, pre-freeze and portion foods so they freeze dry reliably and rehydrate well.

Freeze-Drying Process

How the freeze-drying cycle works, why each stage matters and how to run better batches.

Equipment

How freeze dryers, vacuum pumps, trays and accessories work, and how to care for them.

Troubleshooting

Practical, symptom-first help for vacuum problems, incomplete drying, long batches and other issues.

Storage

Packaging, sealing, oxygen control and honest shelf-life guidance for freeze-dried food.

Rehydration

How much water to add back, which foods rehydrate best and how to improve the final texture.

Advanced Techniques

Optimization, difficult products, powders, careful testing and scaling to more serious batches.

Real-World Testing

The Freeze Drying Lab: how tests are run, recorded and labeled honestly when real records exist.

About WeFreezeDryIt

WeFreezeDryIt is the operating organization behind Just Freeze Drying. It does real-world freeze-drying work: running batches, trialing products, testing how foods behave through the cycle, and developing and documenting processes. That practical work feeds directly into the guides on this site, and it is described here honestly.

Practical Batch Experience

Real batches across a range of foods, with hands-on attention to loading, cycle behavior, finished texture and what went well or wrong. Experience is described qualitatively; no specific volume or batch counts are claimed unless documented.

Testing Across Foods

Foods are trialed for how they dry, rehydrate, powder and store. Findings are shared as general guidance plus a clearly labeled Lab record when a documented test is actually published.

Rehydration & Packaging

Practical work on how much water to add back and how packaging and oxygen control affect stored food, reflected in the site's rehydration and storage guidance.

Process Documentation

Batches are documented with an eye to honest records: what was measured, what was calculated, what was observed and what simply was not recorded.

No specific batch volumes, certifications or laboratory accreditations are claimed anywhere on this site. WeFreezeDryIt is not presented as an accredited analytical laboratory, and no result here is presented as certified analysis. The Lab Methodology page explains exactly how data is labeled.

Who Owns This Content

Just Freeze Drying is the educational resource: the guides, the food encyclopedia, the troubleshooting center, storage and rehydration guidance, tools and the Lab. WeFreezeDryIt is the operating organization behind it, doing the real-world freeze-drying work and testing that inform the site. The Complete Freeze Drying Manual is the site's educational descriptor, and the Freeze Drying Lab is where documented, labeled test records live.

Authorship, sourcing and review are explained on the Authors page, the Editorial & Accuracy Policy and the Methodology page. Errors are handled through the process described on the Corrections page.

Evidence Labels

Content on this site carries small evidence labels so you always know what kind of information you are reading. Right now only these labels ever appear:

General Guidance Manufacturer Guidance Calculated Estimate

Labels such as Measured, Observed, External Lab Result and WeFreezeDryIt Tested are reserved for real, documented tests and external results. No such records exist on this site yet, so those labels are never shown.

Editorial & Trust Pages
